Mr. Kenneth John O'Neill, age 78, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born in Montclair, New Jersey on April 17, 1946, son of the late, Francis O'Neill and Wanda Hankowski O'Neill Trautwein.

Mr. O'Neill attended St. Benedicts Preparatory School in New Jersey. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota St. Paul and his master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. O'Neill proudly served his country for three years in the United States Army and served as an infantry lieutenant in the Vietnam war. Mr. O'Neill retired as President/CEO of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce after 20 years. Through the years, he belonged to several civic and professional organizations, and served on numerous state, regional and local boards and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Mr. O'Neill was an avid golfer and was extremely proud to have played a variety of courses all over the world. He enjoyed hiking, traveling, camping, working in his yard and summers with his family on St. Simons Island.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brian O'Neill (Jill) of Alpharetta; daughter and son-in-law, Megan O'Neill (Alan); grandchildren, Evan Westbrook O'Neill, Andrew Seibolt O'Neill; sisters, Joanne O'Neill and Debra O'Neill DeVries of New Jersey. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Frederick Trautwein and his wife, Mary Seibolt O'Neill.

A private family mass will be held.

A private inurnment will be held at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army.
