Mrs. Kathleen "Kitty" Kirby Kaylor, age 87 of Maple Street, Carrollton died Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Mrs. Kaylor was born in Bowdon, Georgia on May 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Dr. Ellis G. Kirby and Lena Pearl Tomlinson Kirby. She worked with the Red Cross during the mid 1950's serving in Japan, later worked with an insurance agency and retired from West Georgia College. Kitty enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and was a member of Sunset Hills Country Club and the Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her sister-in-laws, Doris Kaylor of Carrollton, Evelyn Kirby of Bowdon; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Kaylor; three sisters and four brothers. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 22 at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Milford officiating. Pallbearers will be Tim Wright, Drew Taylor, Ellis Kirby, Mac Kirby, Jeff Brooks, Eugene McGee, Rick Peeler and Clayton Koehler. Interment will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery.
