Mrs. "Kitty" Green Wilks, age 71, of Habersham Place, Carrollton, died peacefully Monday, October 17, 2011, at her residence following a long bout with Alzheimer's. Mrs. Wilks was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on July 18, 1940, the daughter of the late W. T. "Buddy" Green, Sr., and Louise Fincher Green. She was a homemaker and member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Van C. Wilks, daughter, Jane Wilks Baker of Carrollton, daughter and son-in-law, Snowe and Kevin Green of Chattanooga, Tennessee, son, Van Bradley Wilks of Carrollton, brother, W. T. "Tommy" Green, Jr., of Carrollton, sister, Dr. Carol Green Thompson of Atlanta, grandchildren, Troy and Sarah Baker, Collin, Joy, and Russell Green, and Wyatt Wilks. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 20th, at 11 o'clock at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church with the Very Rev. Hazel S. Glover officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Parish Hall. In accordance with Mrs. Wilks' wishes, her body was cremated.
