Judy Campbell Story, 84, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2026 at about 2:30am. A resident of Madison County, Alabama since 1967, Judy was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Born in Rockmart, Georgia in 1942 to Thomas Malcolm Campbell and Jewel McGarity Campbell, Judy spent her formative years in Carrollton, Georgia and was a graduate of West Georgia College (now University) with a degree in Education. Judy married Carl Lynwood Story, son of Churchill and Carolyn Story on August 27, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia. A schoolteacher, homemaker, long-time Sunday School teacher, and librarian, Judy was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Clan Campbell Society. Reading and travel (especially cruises) were favorite hobbies, and she filled her home with books, family photos, and souvenirs from Scotland, Alaska, the Mediterranean, Egypt, the Arctic Circle, China, and the Holy Land. Throughout her life, she demonstrated love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, her family, her church, and her country.
Judy is survived by her husband of sixty years, Carl, two sons, Ken (Belinda) and Scot (Nicki) all of Madison County, Alabama, a brother Mike Campbell (Laura) of Carrollton, Georgia, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Campbell (Beverly).
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 1 PM – 2 PM at Almon Funeral Home.
A graveside service and interment will follow at 3 PM at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Temple, Georgia. This is the church where Judy accepted Jesus as her Savior in 1957.
