Derringer
Jan 16, 1953 — Jan 8, 2026
Judith Ann Long Derringer, age 72, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Judy was born on January 16, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Vincent Long and Marie Fehr Long. Her life was marked by deep faith, creativity, and a genuine love for people.
She retired after years of devoted service as Director of Christian Education/Children's Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville, where she faithfully nurtured others through teaching and spiritual guidance. Judy especially enjoyed studying scripture, puzzles, and creative projects, often making something meaningful out of very little. She was adventurous by nature, loved to travel, and embraced life with curiosity and joy.
Family was at the heart of everything Judy did. She found her greatest happiness in time spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and faith.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tom Derringer; her children, Tonya Derringer Annis (Ben), Dax Derringer (Katie), Alison Derringer Butler (Ben), and Leah Derringer (Eva); and her cherished grandchildren, Micah, Gabriel, and Gideon Annis; Brody, Baden, and Marley Derringer; Ella, Evie, and Ford Butler; and the soon-to-arrive Summit and Bridger Derringer. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill Long (Linda), Lou Long (Glenda), and Jim Long (Joan), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Douglasville, Georgia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.
