Joyce Carol Gross, age 71, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Joy was born in Carrollton, Georgia on January 21, 1949, the daughter of Mary Weaver Steed and the late Lance Steed. She owned and operated Joy's Beauty Salon and later worked for Lawler's Hosiery Mill. Her hobbies included playing bingo, watching horror movies, fixing hair, listening to music and dancing. She loved to joke around and laugh. In general, she was just a happy sweet soul and she will be forever missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Andi and Shannon Grant of Carrollton; grandchildren, Sydnee, Logan and Tyler Grant; great granddaughter, Carli Ann Craven; mother, Mary Steed; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Barbara Steed; sister and brother-in-law, Annette Gilbert and Ralph Breisch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marc and Julianne Gross. Besides her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Ray Gross, Sr., brother, Paul Kenworthy "Butch" Steed and stepson Gerald "Ray" Gross, Jr. A graveside service and inurnment will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Carroll Memory Gardens with Dr. Steve Davis officiating.
