Mr. Johnny Henry Spence, age 82, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
Johnny was born in Carrollton, Georgia on June 5, 1938, the son of the late Charlie Spence and Inez Cosper Spence. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. During his working career, he was a small business technician for AT&T until his retirement. After his retirement he and his son, Mark, started Spence Communications. He loved golf, eating at Jerry's Country Kitchen, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Spence of 58 years; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Gina Spence, Randy and Robin Spence, Jimmy and Kelly Spence all of Carrollton; grandchildren, Anthony (Robin), Alex (Olivia), Amber (Sam), Jade (Jason), Brandi (David), Shannon (Timothy); great grandchildren, Grason, Ethan, Haddie, Charlie, Madeline, Mylah, Cameron, and MacKenzie; niece and nephews, Susan Spence, Allen Spence and Tommy Spence. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by grandson, Lucas Shaw and a brother, George Spence.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
While following social distancing guidelines, funeral services will be Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne New officiating.
Pallbearers will be Alan Spence, Tommy Spence, Anthony Spence, Alex Spence, Jason Wilde, and David Glaser.
Interment will be in Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery, with American Legion Post #143 performing military honors.
