Mr. John Arthur Birdsong, Sr., age 70 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Mr. Birdsong was born in Carroll County, Georgia on April 17, 1954, the son of the late William Edmun Birdsong and Georgia Nadine Nelms Birdsong.

John spent his life trading and dealing in livestock as well as many hours bailing and hauling hay. He had many treasured pets include his horse Doc, dogs Peaches and Mandy. They were his companion and helped look after the homeplace.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, John Arthur Birdsong, II, Robert A. and Sunni Birdsong; granddaughter, Taylor Birdsong; sister and brother-in-law, Deann and Pat Merrell; nephews, Randy Lee Robinson, II., William E. Birdsong, III; nieces, Dene Birdsong Donaldson and Maggie Robinson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" E. Birdsong, Jr.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
