Mr. John Thomas Chaney, age 63, of Ave C, Carrollton died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Chaney was born in Carroll County on July 16, 1944, the son of the late Thomas H. Chaney and Dovie Eason Chaney. He worked in the body shop at General Motors and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Ayers Chaney; son, Jeffrey Chaney of Carrollton; grandsons, Jeff Chaney, Tyler Chaney both of Carrollton; sisters, Frances Payne of Bowdon; Mary Hendrix of Carrollton; and brother, Jerry Chaney of Carrollton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Allen. Graveside and interment services will be Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 2 PM from Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Johnny League officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray Hyatt, Ronnie Whitley, Gene Smith, Jackie Davis, Earnest Lambert and Dearl Cook. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 PM until 8PM.
