Mr. John Laborn "Johnny" Carnes, Jr., 68, of Simonton Mill Rd., Carrollton passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010. Mr. Carnes was born in Paulding County on December 20, 1941, the son of the late John Laborn Carnes, Sr. and Gertrude Bowman Carnes. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and member of Narroway Baptist Church. Survivors include his twin brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy & Cheryl Carnes of Whitesburg, nieces, Jill Howard of Douglasville, and Inga Fuller of Carrollton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ann Carnes. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 15 at 2 P. M. at Narroway Baptist Church, 631 Narroway Church Circle, Dallas, GA 30132 with Rev. Merle Barron and Rev. Jimmy Carnes officiating. Pallbearers will be Ted Barron, Benjamin Barron, Randy Bowman, Ricky Carnes, Wyndell Carnes and Ronnie Pate. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home, 548 Newnan Street, Carrollton, GA 30117 on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m and Wednesday at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
