Mr. John B. "J.B." Patterson, age 82, of Mt. Zion Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023.

Mr. Patterson was born on November 25, 1940, in Canton, Georgia, son of the late Clifford C. Patterson and Lola Faulkner Patterson.

J.B. was a retired diesel mechanic from Duncan Trucking and custodian for South Douglas Elementary School and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, Georgia. He loved working on cars, loved being outdoors especially working in the yard, watching wrestling and going to church.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gladys V. Patterson; sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley (Lori) Patterson, Randall (Geneva) Patterson, Jeff Harper; daughters and son-in-law, Sonya Patterson (Ron Hipps) who were also his caregivers, Sheila Blankenship; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several half siblings and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Johnny Patterson; sisters, Dorthy Callahan, Bertha Patterson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from noon until 2 pm with a funeral service following at 2 pm from the chapel in Almon Funeral home with Rev. Chester Pesnell officiating.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Tallapoosa, Georgia.

Pallbearers will be, Jeff Harper, Ron Hipps, Wesley Patterson, Randall Patterson, Baylyn Brown and Damon Patterson.
