Mr. Joe Wesley Mann, age 73 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Mr. Mann was born in Royston, Georgia on December 3, 1942, the son of the late E. E. Mann and Edna Porterfield Mann. He received his Bachelor and Masters Degrees at the University of Georgia and his Doctorate Degree at Auburn University. He retired from the University of West Georgia as a Professor in Counseling and Educational Psychology and currently worked as a consultant for the Social Security Administration. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jenny Johnson Mann; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Mann and Rodney B. Hembree of Carrollton; grandsons, Rhett B. Hembree and Ryan C. Hembree. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Eugenia Mann Graves. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
