Mrs. Margaret Ann "JoAnn" Lowney Metz, age 88, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

JoAnn was born on September 24, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Regis Edmond Lowney and Kathleen Gannon Lowney. She earned her Master's degree in Education and devoted her career to teaching, where she touched the lives of many students. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Joni Metz; her daughters and son-in-law, Yvonne and Greg Fjeran, and Lora Metz; and her grandchildren, Zachary Metz, Michael Cunningham, and Caroline Fjeran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas Metz.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 12 noon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Father Joe Wagner officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
