Mr. Jerry Ray Iler, age 66, of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Jerry was born on November 24, 1957, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, the son of the late Jimmy Iler and Mary Ann Mauldin Iler.

A dedicated truck driver for Jones Transportation, Jerry was also a member of Roopville Road Baptist Church and the TruthBuilders Sunday School class. He found joy in riding motorcycles, woodworking, and gold panning. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Dixie.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Ann Iler; sons and daughters-in-law, Jordan (Bethany) Iler, Robert (Alexis) Iler, Jesse Iler, and Brandon (Madi) Iler; granddaughter, Bella Faith Iler; sister, Patty (Ricky) Reid of Bowdon; and brother, Scott (Theresa) Iler of Roopville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Ray Iler, Jr., and his brothers, Barry Iler and Terry Iler.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 4 PM – 7 PM at Almon Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 4 PM at Roopville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Peeples officiating. Family will receive friends from 3 PM to 4 PM at the church.

Interment will follow in Roopville Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Brian Iler, Michael Arrington, Bill Warner, Barry McManus, Gary Nelson, and Phil Moore serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Jordan, Robert, Jesse, Brandon, and members of the TruthBuilders Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Roopville Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 835 N. Hwy 27, Roopville, GA 30170.
