Mr. Jerry Lee Chaney, age 60 of Spence Road, Carrollton died Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Mr. Chaney was born in Carroll County on July 15, 1949, the son of the late Thomas Herbert Chaney and Dovie Eason Chaney. He was a independent truck driver, a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Betty Chaney; daughters, Andrea Chaney of Carrollton, Amanda Bearden of Bremen; sisters, Frances Payne of Bowdon, Mary Hendrix of Carrollton and two grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Chaney and sister, Virginia Allen. A graveside and interment service will be Friday, October 9 at 2 p.m. at Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Keith Hancock officiating. The American Legion Post #143 will fold and present the U.S. Flag.
