Obituary

Mrs. Jeanette Smith Jordan, age 89, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Born on September 24, 1936, in Carroll County, Georgia, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Rance Edgar Smith and Annie Gunnels Smith.

Jeanette was a graduate of Massey Business College and devoted many years of faithful service as a loan officer with Carrollton Federal Savings and Loan, where she was known for her professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for those she served.

A faithful member of Roopville Road Baptist Church, Jeanette's life was a beautiful reflection of her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and servant's heart. Her church family held a special place in her life, and she found great joy in worshiping alongside those she loved.

Jeanette enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader who treasured a good book and loved traveling with her late husband, Joe, creating cherished memories together through the years. Above all else, her greatest joy came from her family. She delighted in every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured.

She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Johnny Holliday, Beverly and Michael Lyle, Jennifer and Kevin Hamblin, and Deanna and Randy Garrett; her sister, Imogene Wood; her grandchildren, Jordan (Paul) Holliday-Millard, Jonah (Rachel) Holliday, Amy (Kinley) Cantrell, Amber (David) Powell, Erin Lyle, Abby (Jonathan) Chandler, Matthew Hamblin, Kimberly (Hunter) Shepherd, Bethany (Logan) Wilson, and J.C. Garrett; and her great-grandchildren, Riley Rayburn, Audrey Powell, Eli and Lyla Holliday, Palmer and Jagger Chandler, and Remy and Brody Cantrell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11 AM at Roopville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Peeples and Pastor Lewis Askew officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to the service hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roopville Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 835 N. Highway 27, Roopville, Georgia 30170, or to Guiding Light Hospice, 8 Savannah Street #201, Newnan, Georgia 30263.

The family would like to thank The Stewart House staff and Guiding Light Hospice for the love and care shown to Jeanette and family.

Jeanette's quiet strength, steadfast faith, and unconditional love for her family will be remembered always. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Joe and is forever at home in the presence of her Lord.
