Jean Ashmore Pruitt, age 95, of Hartwell, Ga, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026.

Born on June 17, 1930, in Bowdon, Ga, she was the daughter of the late Verna and Lela Rayburn Parker.

Jean dedicated over 40 years as a seamstress at Sewell Manufacturing Company in Temple and Bowdon, Ga. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, a devoted member and served as President of the Carrollton Singles and was a Senior Regent with the Carrollton Moose Lodge.

She was known for her love of music and dancing, attending shows at the Lowell Opry House and always ready to go wherever the car could take her. Jean's greatest joy came from her family and hosting many family reunions, and her many friends whom she deeply loved and cherished. She never met a stranger and always welcomed everyone with a big beautiful smile.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Medra Ashmore (Maxine Hicks); her sons, Anthony Ashmore (Margaret), Greg Ashmore (Gladys); grandchildren, Chris Ashmore, Samantha Ashmore, Christopher Ashmore, Cody Jenkins, and Hillary Calix; along with

5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bobby) Pruitt; her son, Mike Ashmore; grandson, Dustin Jenkins; sisters, Myrtle Turner, Sarah McLain, Myrleen Farlow Porter, Lorene Butler; and brother, Hoyt Parker.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2 pm, from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Pastor Gladys Ashmore officiating.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home from 12 pm until 2 pm

Interment will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery, Carrollton, Ga with Cody Jenkins, Isaac Hernandez, Charles Farlow, Tim Ashmore, James Hicks and Steve Butler serving as pallbearers.
