Miss Harriett Jean Hatton, age 72 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Jean was born in Carrollton, Georgia on April 30, 1951, the daughter of the late Herbert S. Hatton and Pauline Tew Hatton. She was one of the first attendees of the School of Hope now known as the Carroll County Training Center. She enjoyed listening to music, doing simple arts and crafts even after losing her eyesight.

She is survived by her brother, Herbert W. Hatton of Carrollton.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the caregivers for Jean over the years, who became her extended family, as well as the doctors and nurses of Tanner Hospital especially 1 West and ICU for their exceptional care.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Shadrix officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Carroll, Isaiah Dennard, Steve Thompson, Mike Burrell, Jeff Merrell and Warren Davis.

Interment will be in Carrollton City Cemetery.
