Obituary

Jean Wilson Clements, 84, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2024, at her home in Carrollton, Georgia. She was born on November 17th, 1939 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Grace Mills Wilson and Fritz Lee Wilson.

On September 20th, 1958 Mrs. Clements married the love of her life, Buford O. Clements in Danville, Georgia. Their love was evident in their shared hobbies, including traveling and ballroom dancing, where they could often be found in matching colors. Together they welcomed two children, Buford Scott Clements and Nancy Clements Dangle.

Jean had a distinguished career as an official court reporter for over 25 years, many of which were served in the Coweta Judicial Circuit. Throughout her adult life she was a voracious reader and avid bridge player. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed creating beautiful tablescapes for all occasions and seasons. She cherished her time as a founding member of the Carrollton Red Hat Society. Jean was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, and a faithful member of the Seekers Sunday school class.

Jean was a loving grandmother and great grandmother to her four grandchildren and was beyond excited to welcome her first great grandson. She shared her passion for gardening, reading, and cooking with her grandchildren, making sure they were never short on "backpack" cookies even through their college years.

She was preceded in death by her four brothers and sister.

Mrs. Clements is survived by her husband of 66 years, Buford O. Clements of Carrollton, Georgia, son Buford Scott Clements (Tammy) of Hepzibah, Georgia; daughter Nancy Clements Dangle (Robert) of Carrollton, Georgia; grandchildren, Robert F Dangle Jr. (Chandler) of Rome, Georgia; Thomas M Dangle (Maricela) of Gainesville, Georgia; Benson M Clements of New York, NY; Mary Grace Wilson (Josh) of Augusta, Georgia.

Jean will be remembered for her faith, joyful spirit, and unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends.
