Mr. Willie Jay Deese age 93, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Mr. Deese was born on May 27, 1930 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late William Deese and Addie Mae Stapler Deese. He served in the US Army 317th Infantry Regiment and worked at Hubbard Clothing Company for 34 years and Southwire for seven years. He was a member of North Point Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to yard sales. Most of all, he loved spending time with family.

Survivors include his step daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Geron Crawford; sisters, Elsie Mae Smith, Alice Smith; brother, Bruce Deese; five step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Riddle Deese; stepson James V. Chatman; sister, Evelyn Benefield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and James Grainger and Opal and Hubert Blackmon; brothers-in-law, Winfred Smith and Rodney Smith; sister-in-law, Diane Deese and an infant sibling, Susan Deese.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11 am from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Driver officiating. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home from 10 am until the service hour.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Smith, John McQueen, Michael Marquet, Tyler McQueen, Curtis Benefield and Doyle Folds.

Interment will be in Old Camp Methodist Church Cemetery.
