Janie Lee Duke McGraw, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Carrollton, Georgia on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

Janie was born on December 17, 1938 in Faceville, Georgia the daughter of the late Crews Duke and Alma Kennedy Duke. She graduated with honors from Attapulgus High School in 1956. She attended Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia and earned an English degree in 1958. She married the Late John Loye McGraw in in 1959 and they had 3 daughters.

Janie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, working crossword puzzles, listening to music, and spending time at the beach. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and family. She was a kind, caring, and compassionate friend to many. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Loren Stash, Jeana Louise McGraw, Beth (David) McMickle; grandchildren, Brad (LeAnne) Cannon, Brandon Collins, Tiffany (Josh) Wilson; sisters, Helen Tillman, Alma Wynn; numerous great grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Loye McGraw.

A memorial service will be held at Renew Church, 1111 Bankhead Highway, Carrollton, Georgia 30117 at 2 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
