Mrs. Janice LaHugh Leavell Etheredge, age 79, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Hugh Leavell and Jewel Bessie "JB" Nix Leavell.

Mrs. Etheredge earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Dekalb Technical College. She worked as a Paraprofessional for the Fulton County School System and later retired from the Clayton County School System. She taught general education and special education, where she especially enjoyed working with autistic children. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, crafting, riding horses, square-dancing with her husband and traveling in a RV. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Milton, Georgia.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Etheredge, Jeremiah Etheredge; sister, Sharon Hicks (Woody); nieces, Susan Hicks (Neal), Jackie Davis (Stephen); great niece, Ansleigh Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Etheredge; sister, Judy Cox; and brother, Neal Leavell.

A graveside service and interment will be held on Friday, January 6, 2022 at 12:30 pm in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 14500 Providence Rd, Milton, Georgia 30004 with Rev. Joe Estes officiating.
