Ms. Janet Faye Merriman age 67, of Temple, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.

Ms. Merriman was born on January 9, 1956 in Texas, the daughter of the late James Merriman and Eunice Carsten Merriman.

She received a B.A. in Criminal Justice (UNLV) and an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies (College of Southern Nevada). She also formerly held certification in the state of New Jersey as a licensed Home Health Aide and a licensed Realtor. She was a Cosmetologist in Colorado, Wisconsin and New Jersey before transitioning into Casino Security when she moved to Nevada. She worked 20 years in the (Nevada) Casino Security industry before retiring to Georgia. She attended Sunday School and church at First Baptist Church Villa Rica.

She is survived by her son, Tyler Smith; twin sister, Janice Kaye Merriman and sister, Victoria Sutherland (Jim); brother, Michael Merriman; nieces, Jamie Faye Cervenka, Sarah Kaye Parris (John); nephews, Col. Ryan Sanford (Erica), Justin Sanford; great nieces, Madeleine Sanford, Naomi Sanford, Adrienne Parris; great nephew, Jacob; dearest friend of 50 years, Rita Morgan (Bob). She was preceded in death by her parents. Lastly, Janet is survived by her beloved dog Chewy, who shall remain in the care of her son. Chewy meant everything to Ms. Merriman.

The family is very thankful for her many caregivers and the ladies of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica.

No services are planned at this time, per her request in final will and testament.
