Mrs. Jane Scharff Lucas, age 89, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was born on October 2, 1934 in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Harry Hall Scharff and Fannie Higgins Scharff.

Of all of her charity work, philanthropy, and volunteering, she would say her greatest accomplishment was being a loving wife of 65 years and mother of five. At the time of her passing she had 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was fondly known as Nana and to a few; Cosmo. Nana showed compassion, loyalty, wisdom, respect and witty banter to all she encountered.

Her dedication to family and a love for golf led her from NJ to NY and finally GA.

She will join her parents who are at rest at the family cottage, Eagle Point, Vermont, where Nana stayed every Summer since 1947, until this year. It is where we will be having a Celebration of Life in July of 2024.

She loved with all of her heart, cared for others and was quick with a one liner. She will be missed and always in our hearts. Godspeed Nana.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. "Bud" Lucas; sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan Austin Lucas and Lisa, Timothy Stewart Lucas and Bianca, Gregory Robert Lucas; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Lucas Aycock and John, Katherine Lucas Sansaverino; grandchildren, Kristen, Lindsey, Jay, Jeffery, Andrea, Melanie, Samantha, Mackenzie, Miguel, Marbella, Lucas, Lillian, Marshall; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Edith Scharff Smith and Barbara Scharff Moore.
