Mr. James Entrekin Lyle of Carrollton, Ga., died January 1, 2012. Mr. Lyle was born November 6, 1931 in Carrollton, Ga., the son of Claude Q. and Ruby J. Lyle. He was a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant, Founder/C.E.O. of Lyle Enterprises Manufactured Housing. He was a dedicated member of Lowell United Methodist Church in Lowell, Ga., a loving father, grandfather, and husband, and a good friend to all who knew him. Mr. Lyle served three tours of duty as a U.S. Air Force crew chief during the occupation of Japan following World War II, the Korean War, and in Vietnam. Upon retiring from his military service of over 20 years, he was a member of the Georgia Manufactured Housing Association and also served on its board, starting his retail business in 1971. Mr. Lyle served Carroll County for over 40 years as a businessman and philanthropist. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Marie Lyle; his three sons and their spouses; Mike and Cathie Lyle, Mark and Deborah Lyle, and David and Tammie Lyle; grandchildren; Larcie Lyle Richardson and her husband Jake Richardson, Jenna Lyle, Tyler Lyle, and Cassie Lyle; and great grandson, James Entrekin (Jet) Richardson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Winton Q. Lyle and niece Judy Lyle. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 3, at 2 p.m. at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton. Pallbearers will be Verne Marshall, Tony Lyle, Jason Terry, Joey Terry, Elmer Pearce, J.W. Wood and Jake Richardson. Visitation will be Monday, January 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, January 3, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., also at Almon Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Lowell United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with American Legion Post 143 making the flag presentation.
