James Edward Jones, age 85, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Mr. Jones was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 14, 1935, the son of the late Joseph Elmore Jones and Margaret Rowena Whittle Jones. He was retired Master Sergeant having served in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years and later retired from Lockheed-Martin. He was a member of the American Legion Post 82 and Marine Corps League. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Norma Jean Vincent Jones; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Scott Eisner, of Carrollton, Sherri and Greg Richardson of Ellijay; grandchildren, Scott Richardson, Steven Richardson, Shaun Eisner and five great grandchildren. A graveside service and interment will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with Chaplain Kenneth Brown officiating. The United States Marine Corps will provide military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made toward the construction of Veterans Crosses project.
