Obituary

Jackie Jean Williams, age 76, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Jackie was born on May 6, 1949, in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Charles Griffis and Frances Braswell Griffis. A lifelong resident of West Georgia, she dedicated her life to caring for others. She retired as a caregiver and cook from Tallapoosa Assisted Living Facility, where her compassion and warm meals left a lasting impact on residents and coworkers alike.

Jackie was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, having grown up attending Consolation Baptist Church. Her love for gospel music, puzzle books, walking her beloved dog, and long phone conversations with friends and family brought her joy throughout her life. She was known for her servant's heart and the special care she gave to others — both at work and in her personal life.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Nick (Lori) Williams of Temple, GA, and Matt (Sherrie) Williams of Bremen, GA; grandchildren, Ty, Kail, Holly, Austin, Chief, Keely, Amaley, Bradley, and Nicholas; a whole bunch of great-grandchildren; sister. Peggy Whittington and brother Bobby Joe Griffis.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Kenneth Williams; brothers Bill Griffis, Jimmy Griffis, Thomas Griffis, and Johnny Griffis; and her sister JoAnn Crews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Almon Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Consolation Baptist Church, with Rev. Donny Chandler and Rev. Wayne Morris officiating.
