Mr. Hugh L. Brock, Jr., age 91, of Brock Road, Carrollton died Thursday, October 9, 2014. Mr. Brock was born on July 9, 1923, the son of the late Hugh L. Brock, Sr. and Nora Tarpley Brock. He retired a farmer, was active for several years with the Soil and Water Conservation for his district as the Director, past Tanner Hospital Authority board member serving as chairman for one term and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include, his wife, Doris H. Brock; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Catherine Brock of Carrollton; nieces, Pamela Redding, Susan Bruning, Beverly McGinnis, Robin Altman and Laci Campbell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Robert Brock; sister, Ann Brock and niece, Mary Brock. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Greer officiating. Pallbearers will be Casey Vance, Bryan Carden, Carl Brack, David Burson, Joe McGinnis and Tony Altman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Old Time Driving Club.
