Mrs. Helen S. Finleyson, age 83, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Monday, December 30, 2019. Mrs. Finleyson was born on November 6, 1936 in Fairburn, Georgia the daughter of the late Sergeant Major Russell Smith and Marian Bearden Smith. She worked as an X-ray Technician at Emory Hospital and later became a homemaker. She loved to play bridge with her friends and read but most of all she loved her grandchildren and her family. She was a member of the Lit-Mu Women's Club, Red Hat Society and the Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Clarence "Fin" Finleyson, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Clarence Russell Finleyson (Tracey) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Clarence Taylor Finleyson, Zachary Russell Finleyson; step grandchildren, Zack Gergis and Zoie Gergis; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Joan Smith of Charleston, SC. Due to her wishes her body was cremated and a visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Carrollton First United Methodist Church from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
