Mrs. Hazel Bailey Watters, age 90, of Rome, Georgia formerly of Carrollton died Sunday, February 8, 2015. Mrs. Watters was born in Leicester, England on November 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Harry Bailey and Louisa Bettony Bailey. She was retired clerical worker having worked for Sinclair Oil, Southern Mills, Carroll Creamery, Richards Lumber Company and W. Georgia College. Mrs. Watters was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia and former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kenneth Bass of Adairsville; granddaughter, Chelsea Bass and her fiancé Joe Janik of Rome; sisters, Edna Brigstock of England, Gwyneth Naylor of England and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Brittain Watters; brothers, Harry Bailey, Cyril Bailey and sister, Mavis Ward. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 11 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Whitaker and Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating. Pallbearers will be Charles Norred, Robert Norred, Keith Bass, Joe Janik, Brad Gilbert and Robert Bell. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
