Mr. Harold Gilbert Sprewell, age 84, of Salem Church Road, Carrollton passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Mr. Sprewell was born in Bowdon, Georgia on October 24, 1927, the son of the late Clarence Brotus Sprewell and Dula Mae Morgan Sprewell. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Lockheed Aircraft as a Flight Line Mechanic. Mr. Sprewell was a cattleman, and member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and Tyus Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anita Joy Sprewell; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brook McDaniel of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Jennie Sprewell of Rome, GA, Sid and Charlsie Sprewell of Carrollton, Stuart and Angelia Sprewell all of Carrollton; grandchildren, Wesley Sprewell, Josh Sprewell, Matt Sprewell, Kirby Sprewell, Lindsey Sprewell, Emily Sprewell, Amy Gossett, and Samantha McDaniel; great grandson. Harrison Gosset; and brother, Fred Sprewell of Carrollton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Bamah Wood and Evelyn Williams and brother, Bobby Sprewell. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11 am from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Doug New and Mr. Sam Sprewell officiating. Pallbearers will be Roy Sprewell, Gordon Sprewell, Wesley Sprewell, Josh Sprewell, Matt Sprewell, and Larry Lane. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 pm until 8 pm.
