Obituary

Mr. Gregory Lee Nabors, age 78, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital. Mr. Nabors was born on December 29, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Frank Lee Nabors and Gladys Lorene Lessley Nabors. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Ann Williford Nabors.

Gregory proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a structural engineer with Southwire, where he worked faithfully for 41 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was also involved with the Senior Center and AMVETS.

Gregory was a man of many talents and interests, but above all, he was a man who loved his family. Spending time with those he loved brought him great happiness, and the memories they shared will remain a treasured part of his legacy.

Music held a special place in Gregory's heart. He was a gifted singer and enjoyed playing a variety of musical instruments. He shared his love of music through singing with the Song Birds and was recognized for his talents with a Best Entertainer Award at McIntosh Opry in Peachtree City. Whether singing, playing an instrument, or simply enjoying a favorite song, music was one of the many ways he brought joy to those around him. Gregory also had a creative spirit and enjoyed drawing, watching racing, and spending time with slot cars. His many interests reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He also had a heart for ministry and found great fulfillment in sharing his faith and ministering to others. His love for the Lord, his family, and those around him was an important part of the life he lived.

Mr. Nabors is survived by his son, Thomas Gregory Nabors; daughter, Courtney Gail Nabors Castelan (Randall Petty); grandchildren, Jayden Tyree Walker, Leo Tyreek Castelan, and Ava Grace Castelan; sister, Teresa R. Osnes; nephews, James Thomas Osnes II and Jonathan Michael Osnes; and niece, Jennifer Diane Kite.
