Mrs. Grace Irene Dorough Johnson, age 94 of Carrollton, Georgia died Friday, September 12, 2014. Mrs. Johnson was born in Heard County, Georgia on September 24, 1919, the daughter of the late Floyd Jasper Dorough and Beatrice Elizabeth Cowart Dorough. Early on in her working career she worked for Sewell Manufactory, then owned and operated Carroll Florist. She later worked with her husband at Ray's Lawnmower Sales and Service. She was a volunteer with the Tanner Auxiliary having 20 years of service and was a member of the First Christian Church since 1948. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Montes and H.J. Kenerly of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Debbie Walton Johnson of Waco; grandchildren, Jeff (April Terhune) Kenerly, Wes Kenerly, Drew Johnson, Kim (Alan) Haney; great grandchildren, Kyle Kenerly, Ashton Kenerly, Brock Kenerly, Pressley Haney; sister and brother-in-law, Sybil Dorough Mayo and Darrel of Laurel, Mississippi and very special friends of the family, Lisa Crews, Judy Carnes and Pam Wilson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Johnson; brothers, Lewis Dorough, Milburn Dorough and sister, Geneva Dorough Golden. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, September 15 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Minister Randy Barnhart, Mr. Elmer Golden, Jr. and Mr. Matt Gray officiating. Music will be by Susan Ingle, Dawn Broome and Louanne Hutcheson. Pallbearers will be Ken Beckett, Alan Haney, Elton Lyle, Dick Ingle, Richard Corn, Denton Alford and Newman Striplin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tanner Auxiliary, Victory Sunday School Class, Lisa Crews, Judy Carnes and Pam Wilson. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
