Mrs. Glenda Runell Simpson, 77, of Carrollton passed away Friday, December 28, 2012. Mrs. Simpson was born in Graham, AL on September 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Sam Runyan and Missy Cosper Runyan. She retired as a teachers assistant for handicap children at the Central Elementary School, and was a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ in Newell, AL. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Shaw and son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kristi Simpson all of Carrollton, grandchildren, Angellique (Isaih) Marder of , Atlanta, Brooke (Wade) Bryant of Bentonville, Ark, Samuel Simpson of Carrollton, great grandchildren, Sebastian Shy Marder and Nina Sophia Marder, sister, Kitty Luick of Atlanta, and sister-in-law, Charolotte Runyun of Graham, AL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Simpson, brothers, Ray Runyan, Alfred Runyan, and Crawford Runyan. Funeral services will be Monday, December 31 at 11 A. M. EST from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Simpson and Mrs. Cathy Gambrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 p. m. until 5 p. m. EST. Pallbearers will be David Runyun, Gerry Runyun, Mike Runyun, Tim Cole, Terry Cole, and Mike Steadham. Memorial contributions may be sent to the ARC, 200 Airport Rd., Carrollton, GA 30117.
