Mr. Gerry Edward Tyson, age 74, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Gerry was born on December 17, 1950, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Lewis Edward Tyson, Sr. and Eula Mae Stitcher. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and dedicated many years of his life working in maintenance for the Carroll County School System.

A faithful member of Villa Rica Church of Christ since 1997, Gerry was known for his strong spirit, steady hands, and loving heart. He found joy in service — to his country, his community, and most of all, his family.

He is survived by his children, Chip Tyson, Desire Taylor, Zachary Tyson, Aaron Tyson, and Angela Tyson; grandchildren, Peyton Parmer, Dalyn Tyson, and numerous others who brought light into his life. He is also survived by his siblings: Randy Tyson, Donna Templeton, Curtis Cummings, Israel Tyson, and Al Phillips, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Alton Stitcher; stepmother, Dorothy Tyson; and siblings, Charlsie Lewis, Marlin Cummings, and Lewis Edward Tyson Jr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 pm to 7 pm at Almon Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home at 2 o'clock with Rev. Anthony Puckett officiating.
