Obituary

Gail Denise (Gabriel) Bernal peacefully passed away on April 10, 2024. She was united with her Lord and Savior, and reunited with her parents and siblings.

Gail was born on October 17, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida to Roy Lewis Gabriel & Margie Marie (Hill) Gabriel. As the devout daughter of a Navy Chief, she traveled and relocated through many states in the US and abroad, never too far from her family. Adaptable and proactive, she called many places home. She was well educated and industrious— she earned her bachelor's degree and pursued a long career in management.

To her friends, Gail was funny and quick witted, always the life of the party. To her family, she was kind and gentle, playful and generous. She was fierce and determined, never giving up too easily and always ready for the next adventure. To have her around meant there was never a dull moment. Her presence always brought an air of fun and light heartedness.

She will be lovingly remembered for the joy she brought her friends and family and the optimism she offered for every seemingly hopeless situation. She was never one to dwell on the past or future; instead, she lived thankfully in the present. She always embraced the richness of life, cherished its blessings and savored each precious moment.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Lewis Gabriel, mother, Margie Marie Gabriel, brother, Samuel Lewis Gabriel and sister, Debora Kay Crumpton.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lovalynn & Jud Hardy; grandchildren, Samantha Marie & Joshua Williams, Selena Marie Hardy, Matthew Ryan Hardy, Joseph Alexander Hardy and Joshua Zane Hardy; great-granddaughters, Alayna Mae, Alexis Jade & Baby Girl Williams; Niece, Quirina Ann Marie Gabriel Urtiaga & Joseph Urtiaga; grandnephew, Seth Urtiaga, and brother in law, Homer "Slick"Crumpton.

While she will be deeply missed and the void of her absence deeply felt, her legacy will live on in those she left behind.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Almon Funeral Home.

A private family graveside service will be held in Carrollton City Cemetery with Rev. Keith Jiles officiating.
