Mrs. Faye Carter McWhorter, 83 of Carrollton, GA passed away Friday, April 18, 2014. Mrs. McWhorter was born in Menlo, GA on February 27, 1931 to the late George Carter and Emma Key Carter. She was a retired school teacher with the Carroll County School System and member of Stripling Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Stipe McWhorter; son and daughter-in-law, Sherrod and Maria Guadalupe McWhorter of Carrollton; brothers, Gene Carter of Menlo, GA, James Carter of Trion, GA, Bill Carter of Newnan, GA; sisters, Jessie Purcell of Lovejoy, GA and Gladys Reese of Summerville, GA; grandchildren Julio McWhorter, Isaac McWhorter, Jessica Smith and Jordan Smith; great grandchildren Alexander McWhorter and Austin McWhorter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Smith. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev.
