Obituary

"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and overburdened, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28 Mrs. Everlena Holley Grier was born on July 28, 1930 in Coweta County, Georgia to the late Lewis Woods and Arlena Yates Woods. Everlena was united in marriage at an early age to Horace Holley; from this union were two children. JoAnn and Bobby Holley whom all precedes her in death. She then married Jim Tom Grier who precedes her in death. Everlena joined Mt. Lowell Baptist Church at an early age. She was presently attending Crawford Chapel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and worshipped the Lord until her departure. Everlena departed this life on February 24, 2011 at Tanner Medical Center. She is preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Jimmie Lou Henderson and Anna Mae Martin and one brother, John Henry Woods. She also is preceded in death by a very special friend Darius McGlocton. Everlena leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Everlena loved family and visiting with everyone and she will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A celebration of Mrs. Everlena Grier's life will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 1 o'clock at Crawford Chapel United Methodist Church in Bremen with Pastor E. Bernard Campbell, Rev. Enoch Luke and Evangelist Eva Barber officiating. Music will be by Minister Diane Holts and Mrs. Sarah Burson. Her nephews will service as pallbearers and nieces will be flower girls. Interment will be in Westside Memory Gardens.
