Mrs. Estrella Armodia Cavender, age 83, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. She was born on October 13, 1940, in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Philippines, to the late Eugenio P. Armodia Sr. and Victoria A. Comique.

Estrella was a graduate of Cebu Normal School where she studied to be a primary school teacher. She emigrated from the Philippines to the United States to start a new life with her husband, Kara Cavender of Bowdon, to whom she was married for 40 years. She retired from Sewell Manufacturing Company as a seamstress. Estrella enjoyed the company of her friends, gardening, tending to her and her husband's farm animals, and caring for her two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Aurora Armodia.

She is survived by her brothers, Eugenio Armodia Jr., and Carlos Armodia; sister, Nelda Armodia; daughter, Marilou Hood; step-daughter, Patricia Moore; grandchildren, Victoria and Joe Hood; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Stringfellow, the staff at Tanner Medical Center, and Tanner Hospice Care for their compassion and loving care.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 5 PM – 7 PM with a Rosary to follow at 7 PM at Almon Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Joseph Wagner officiating.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery.
