Obituary

Emmanuel "Manny" Joseph Suarez, age 92 of Carrollton, Georgia died Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Manny was born in New York City, New York on October 1, 1926, the son of the late Rosa Marco Suarez and Jose Antonio Suarez. His youth was spent living in Juano, Alaska, Savannah, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee. He and his family settled in Tampa, Florida in 1940. He lived in Tampa until he and his wife Clarine retired and moved to Homosassa, Florida in 1988. In Tampa he attended Jesuit High School. He left high school to join the Navy during World War II. After the war he returned to Jesuit High School. After high school he graduated from the University of Tampa. He received his Masters Degree from the University of Florida and Specialist Degree from the University of South Florida. He retired from the Hillsborough County School System after 34 years. After retirement he served as an adjunct professor teaching interns for the University of South Florida. He was an avid workout enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, hunting and skeet shooting. He was a member of the Homosassa Fishing Club, Homossa and Little River Gun Club of Carrollton, Georgia. He is an honorary member of Smoke Rise Field Club, Rosman, Georgia. He and his wife, Carol spent their summers in Sapphire Valley, North Carolina. Manny was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Carrollton, Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Carol K. Warfford; son, Marc (Janet) Suarez of Atlanta; daughter, Sara Suarez of Tampa, Florida; son, Andrew Suarez of Tampa Florida; step daughters, Elizabeth Warfford of Atlanta and Julie (Bill) Parrish of Carrollton; grandchildren, Savanah Suarez, Jadelyn Suarez, Cianna Rose Suarez, Wrenn Parrish and Lucy Hughes Parrish. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Clarine Hobbs Suarez. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service hour. Pallbearers will be Marc Suarez, Drew Suarez, Bill Parrish, Butch Hoyle, Dave Reynolds and Norvin Hagan. Interment will be in Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Florida, Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Community Outreach, 606 Newnan Street, Carrollton, GA 30117 or Tanner Hospice Care, P.O.
