Elsie Pearl Gilley passed away at Carrollton Manor Nursing Home in Carrollton on January 17, 2017. She was born in Carroll County to the late Ezra and Lillie Gilley. She worked for Camp Cap Company in Villa Rica, Sewell Manufacturing Company in Bremen and Arrow Shirt Company in Bremen. She was a member of Midway Macedonia Baptist Church and lived all her life in Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her parents Ezra and Lillie Gilley; sisters, Grace Gilley Duke, Frances Gilley Ray; brothers, Olin (Bud) Gilley, Robert (E.G.) Gilley, Larry Gilley and Jerry Gilley. Survived by sisters, Louise Gilley Estep of Bowdon, Evelyn Gilley Barron of Carrollton, Kathryn Gilley Moore of Carrollton, Linda Gilley Word of Bowdon; brother and sister-in-law, David and Runelle Gilley of Carrollton; brother-in-law, Morris Ray of Carrollton; sister-in-law, Martha Gilley also of Carrollton; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Darnell Teal and Rev. Steve Schneider officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews and honorary pallbearers will be her great nephews. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton.
