Elroy Stanley Emanuel, affectionately known as "Yank," passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born on April 27, 1943, in Manhattan, New York, Roy was son to the late Helen Theresa (Gomalchick) Emanuel.

Roy dedicated his career to Carroll EMC, starting as a lineman and rising to the role of foreman until his retirement in 1999. He loved his job and took pride in his work. Roy was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church for many years. He was also a Vietnam Veteran.

In March of 1965, Roy married the love of his life, Shirley Wilder after only a few short weeks of meeting each other. Together, they built a beautiful life over six decades of marriage until Shirley's passing on March 9, 2025.

Roy was a devoted father to his three children: Helena "Suzy" Montalto (Jimmy), Matthew Emanuel, and the late Christi Ann Woodall (Barry). He was a proud grandfather to Nick Montalto, Brodie Montalto, Blake Woodall, Justin Woodall, and Kayson Emanuel, and is now reunited with his grandson Brennan Emanuel.

Besides his loving wife, he was also preceded in death by his mother Helen Emanuel, his brother Edward Emanuel and sister-in-law Angela Emanuel, his daughter Christi Ann Woodall and son in law Barry Woodall and grandson Brennan Emanuel. Roy leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including many nieces and nephews, who will remember his strength and steadfastness to his family.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ronald Cook officiating and interment will follow.
