Mrs. Edna Simmons Lane, 97, of Carrollton, GA passed away Friday, June 1, 2012. Mrs. Lane was born in Turner County, GA on August 18, 1914, the daughter of the late Rev. William J. Simmons and Lois Patterson Simmons. She retired as a social worker the Department of Family and Children's Service in Fulton County. Mrs. Lane was a member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Linda L. Dickerson and son, Orval T. (Lanny) Lane, both of Carrollton, brothers, William J. Simmons of Big Canoe, GA and McAllister, Montana, John M. Simmons of Eatonton, GA and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Lewis Simmons. Memorial services will be Monday, June 11 at 11 A. M. at the CarrolltonFirst United Methodist Church with Dr. Jimmy Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church Gathering Room from 10 A. M. until 11 A. M.
