Dr. Phillip "Phil" McGhee, age 76, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on May 17, 1949, to the late Norman and Vivian McGhee.

Phil was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a dedicated family physician who spent his career after graduation from the Medical College of Georgia providing skilled and caring healthcare to patients throughout West Georgia.

In retirement, Phil embraced his creative side as an avid woodworker, finding fun and purpose in crafting gifts for friends and family. Phil also greatly enjoyed performing with the Carrollton Presbyterian Church Choir and the Carrollton Community Chorus. Singing was a source of happiness for him throughout his life, and he cherished the music and fellowship he found in these groups.

Phil is survived by his wife of 36 years, Holly Harris McGhee; his sister Anne Davis (Steve); his children Matt McGhee (Windy), Audrey Griffin (Alex), and Spencer McGhee (Stephanie); his step-children Heather Harper, Amy Harper (Mike Soprano), and Katherine Ann Alley (David); and his grandchildren Julia Unsicker, Camilla Unsicker, Kylea Alley, Natalie Alley, Braighton Alley, Max Griffin, Stella McGhee, and Maggie McGhee; and numerous extended family.

A service will be held celebrating Phil's life on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Carrollton Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Carrollton Presbyterian Church or the Carroll County Soup Kitchen.
