Dr. Edwin H. Grant, age 92, died on April 7, 2025, at the residence he had enjoyed for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace Grant, two brothers, George Jr. And Thomas, and one cherished grandson, Eli Grant.

Dr. Grant was born in Birmingham, AL, in 1932. The family moved to Gadsden, AL, in 1936, where Dr. Grant attended the public school system through high school. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Alabama in Birmingham in 1957 after attending college at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for three years.

After joining the Armed Services and receiving training at Fort Jackson, SC, he was transferred to 10th Field Hospital in Wuerzburg, Germany, to head the Radiology Department. There, he met and married his wife of 65 years, Ingeborg Maria. The couple left Germany, relocating to Birmingham, AL, for a one-year residency in general surgery, after which he completed a three-year radiology residency at University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville. He started his radiology practice in Carrollton in June 1964, continuing solo for 10 years before adding an associate. He retired in 1997 after 33 years of practice.

He is survived by his wife Inge; his three children, Carol, Eddie, and Nancy, and their spouses; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Dr. Grant's wishes, the body was cremated, and no visitation or services are planned at this time.
