Dr. David Hiram Hovey, Jr., 71, of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013. Dr. Hovey was born in Biloxi, MS on July 20, 1942, the son of the late David H. Hovey, Sr. and Maddi Mildred Gillespy Hovey. He was an educator at the University of West Georgia where he served as former Dean of the Richards College of Business. He was a veteran of the U. S Army and member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. Survivors include two daughters, Ashlyn Hovey Coussan of Cumming, GA, Shea Mildred Hovey of Brooklyn, NY, and one sister, Mary Lynne Bonin of St. Martinville, LA. Also are three grandchildren, Cody, Christian, and Caleb Coussan of Cumming, GA and one niece and nephew. Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 28 at 11 A. M. at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church with the Very Reverend Hazel Glover officiating. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 p. m. until 8 p. m.
