Mrs. Dorothy Heath Vines, age 82 of Golfview Drive, Villa Rica, Georgia died Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Mrs. Vines was born in Carroll County on December 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph Steven Heath and Elizabeth Rebecca Simpkins Heath. Before retiring she worked in the banking industry as a teller/bookkeeper and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Dumas J. Vines, Sr.; sons, Dumas J. Vines, Jr. of Yulee, Florida, Timothy Oscar Vines of Waco; grandchildren, Joseph Vines, Dana Vines, Matthew Vines, Harlie Vines; sisters, Margie Coulon, Betty Jo Lyle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Dolph Heath, Clarence and Jewell Heath; six nephews; six nieces and a number of great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Vaudelle McCarty, Mary Phillips, Doris Phillips, Geneva Driver and brother, Lester Heath. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Crystal Monroy and Alexis Monroy for the unconditional love and care they gave to Dorothy over the last couple years. They have become family to Dumas and Dorothy. Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Vines will be Saturday, February 13 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Mr. Ben Pilgreen will provide the music. Pallbearers will be Dennis Bates, Steve McCarty, Joseph Vines, Matthew Vines, Andy Heath and Dennis Young. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
