Mr. Willie Denver Chandler, age 90, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Mr. Chandler was born in the Hulett Community of Carroll County on November 14, 1929, the son of the late Willie Albert Chandler and Geneva Williams Chandler. Denver had a long and successful working career spanning over 60 years. He worked as a salesman for Armour Star, plant manager of DuGro frozen foods and as an agent with Farm Bureau in Carrollton. He was a faithful servant of the Lord having taught Sunday School at West Carrollton Baptist Church for 50 years prior to joining Eastside Baptist Church. He had a love for tractors and one of his many quotes was "every tractor has a seat for every man's hiney." Survivors include his children, Steve and Nancy Chandler of Carrollton, Susan and Fritz Rohrmayer of Indiana, Russ Chandler Carrollton; his heroes and jewels(also known as grandchildren), Josh (Rikki) Chandler, Ginny Chandler, Amber Rohrmayer, Megan (Sean) Rhea, Brandon (Cari) Rohrmayer, Scarlett (Ryan) George; great grandchildren, Hudson Rohrmayer, Bennett Rohrmayer and Charleigh Chandler; sisters-in-law, Amma Jean Chandler, Cloma Chandler and special friend, Juanita Morrow. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gerlie P. Chandler(his swamp angel); brothers, Joel Chandler, Rev. Talmadge Chandler; sisters, Marguerite Chandler and Charlcie Chandler Inman. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. The funeral will be live streamed from the funeral home Facebook page, Almon Funeral Home & Chapel. Pallbearers will be Keith Chandler, Scott Chandler, Tim Eady, Randy Jennings, Robbie Jennings and Matt Young. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Keith Hancock officiating.
