Denny Joe Norton, 77, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Born on October 6, 1947, in Douglasville, he was the son of the late William "Shorty" Johns and Reba Standridge Johns. Denny proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

In his early years, Denny rode bulls with the rodeo before beginning a long career with Georgia Power as a lineman, from which he retired. He was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and was of the Baptist faith.

Denny had a deep love for sports—he enjoyed both playing and coaching softball and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs. He also found joy in hunting and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his son, Dusty John Norton; daughter, Dana Norton Little (Mark); grandchildren, Dallas McGee and Dane McGee; as well as several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
