Mrs. Dena B. Sears, age 98 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. Mrs. Sears was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts on July 29, 1920, the daughter of the late Evaristo Battistini of Cesena, Italy and Mary Balestracci Battistini of Filattiera, Italy. She graduated from Forsyth Dental School for dental hygienist in Boston, Massachusetts in 1943 and worked as a dental hygienist for a number of dentists, most recently, Dr. James Morrow. She was of the Christian faith. Survivors include her daughter, Lurlene Brown of Incline Village, Nevada; son, Dennie Sears of Carrollton; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Sears and Jennifer A. Brown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Battistini; sisters, Catherine Piscatori, Irene Minardi and Alba Campbell. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. (EST) Funeral service will be held at Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 23980 AL-48, Woodland, Alabama 36280 on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11 a.m.(CST) with Pastor Jacob R. Wilkerson officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Eddie Sears, Ronald Sears, David Sears, James Sears and Steve Sears.
